Discovery Parks - Geelong, hotel in Geelong

Just 5 minutes' drive from central Geelong, this holiday park offers easy access to the Great Ocean Road and several beaches.

Many thanks to reception for patiently answering questions about accessing the heated pool and using the correct wifi password. The heated pool ranges from one metre to 1.4 metres in depth and was refreshing on a cool day outside. The deluxe cabin was spacious, very comfortable bed and furnishings, fully equipped kitchen. Appreciated the Cafe at the front of the park for breakfast. Located across the road from beautiful Barwon River Park with walking and cycling paths. Only a few minutes' drive to Belmont shops and easy to reach central Geelong.

Geelong a city in Victoria, more like a large town feel.

Geelong a city in Victoria, more like a large town feel. Vibrant pubs, bars and clubs, some quality restaurants and has some wonderful area around to visit, vineyards, historical sights swimming beaches and further afield surfs up. I've visited many times and enjoyed the hospitality of the people in Geelong , the waterfront is an added attraction with the YC and marina plus the foreshore restaurants. A good place to visit.

I do the Ironman event each year.

I do the Ironman event each year. I plan to come back and stay for a holiday lots to see, I love the bats and the Botanical garden. The swim circle thing is excellent although has a strong urine smell near the facilities. Lots of paths for cycling and the Barwon river has an excellent walking track all along. Great place for active people. If you're into food then you're in for a treat, lots of cafe and restuarants offering a great range of quality foods. I had some delicious crepes on the foreshor.

Geelong city is a very nice place.

Geelong city is a very nice place. It has a long fresh air beach with a lot of seagulls flying around and basking in the sun. It is a city for people who love running and cycling. A city where you can come back to nature with many kinds of birds such as Cockatoos, Magpies...

I stayed the night as I was catching the Spirit of Tasmania early the following morning. I would have been very happy to have spent longer to explore Geelong. Where I stayed was very convenient, quiet and easy walking distance to restaurants.

The waterfront is lovely; Eastern beach has beautiful park surrounds that reflect an elegance of an earlier era; many restaurants with great cuisine; art galleries; the botanic gardens are delightful.

Well we clearly asked for a front water-facing room in the booking.com app. But they gave us a poor view room, on the side, where only apartment rooms were visible. I paid 390 something for this room to see the water from my room. However, the other hotels were cheaper by $150 and could have saved this money to spend somewhere else, may be in food and fuel. I generally use booking.com for hotel bookings but i have seen if we make some requests in the app hotel staff doesn't value that request, this has happened to me a couple of times.

Budget motel. I was delighted to find something i thought didn't exist - A nicely furnished room that was neutral but had character by the clever use of patterns and textures with the furnishings and artwork that didn't look like mass produced rubbish from a bargain shop. Facilities provided were good, clean and nicely arranged. I will return here when I'm next in Geelong. Given the price point and it being an old style motel I was pleasantly suprised and delighted with the room. I was here for the Ironman event

The room was clean and much quieter than I had expected (given there is a busy road and railway line nearby). Office staff were polite and able to facilitate a quick check-in for me, as I was in a rush. Parking on-site was fairly secure, off the street and within the building. The hotel is close to the public transport and in a good position if you plan to go on foot to visit different areas in Geelong. It was only a 5 minute drive from the venue I was working at for the weekend, so very conveniently situated.

An absolutely amazing property in a fabulous location in Geelong. Gorgeous views within walking distance to river and to heart of Geelong. Would stay again, but need to bring platters, sharp knives, dip bowls etc. Not set up like many AirBnB/rentals for the extra things outside of basic cutlery and crockery.

Staff member that checked me in was great. Friendly and welcoming. One of the more comfier beds and not the usual hard as a rock type. The few minor things were not a deterrent and will definitely make it my go-to accommodation when having to go down to Waurn Ponds
